Today we get a second look at the new Apple plus series Foundation, which is based off the novel of the same name from acclaimed Science Fiction writer Isaac Asimov. I’ve been following this show’s progression ever since it was announced that it was coming to the streaming service.
I remain cautiously optimistic, because on one hand you David S. Goyer as showrunner. His past works, while ranging from sufficient to pretty good, have never been utterly groundbreaking or visionary. On the other side of the coin, the series has two of what I think are best working actors today in Lee Pace and Jared Harris. So I’m hoping that their performances will be able to elevate the show and put it in the area that it needs to reside in.
Because if you’ve read the Foundation series from Asimov, you know the size and scope the books inhabit. This trailer looks very good overall and I remain very hopefully that we get a final product that is worthy of Mr. Asimov’s work.
